La historia de Stepup Baby
“My eldest, lively at just 18 months, was constantly around my ankles, asking to be lifted up while I was preparing his lunch or washing up.”
At the time I was pregnant with his baby sister and so was keen to find a better way of involving him without the constant need of having to carry him.
I found out about learning towers, inspired by Montessori philosophy, which encourages a child to find joy in self-discovery. However, most of them are too big for smaller kitchens, and don’t provide the safest environment for little ones. They also look more like a toy or huge confined construction than a blended part of the furniture that I’d be happy to have in my home.
I wanted to create something safer and more accessible, that also manages to look good. So here’s my version, Stepup Baby, tried and tested by me (and Alexander) and other parents wanting more shared time at home. We love it, and hope you do too.
I’m Emma Robbins, founder of Stepup Baby and mother to two young children.
